What We’re Reading: December 2021

Can you believe that this is our last edition of What We’re Reading for 2021? Our team is finishing off the year strong with some holiday romances, literary fiction, and gothic tales. What are you reading this month?

Gabi LePage, Founder

There's little I love more than a holiday-themed rom com. And, The Holiday Swap is exactly that. I'm ready to be thrown into the world of holiday baking and complicated relationships.

Lizzy Schmitter, Designer

In December, along with our LL pick, I want to read the first book in the Crescent City series, House of Earth and Blood. I've heard nothing but good things about this one, and I think it'll be the perfect way to end the year.

Carly Radiske, Email Marketing Strategist

Lizzy (our amazing Designer) actually gifted me a copy of Plain Bad Heroines that's been on my TBR list. I'm hoping to finally get around to reading it!

Alexis Neuville, Editor

Ace of Spades has been on my list ever since it came out, and it’s about time I read it! I’m switching between reading this one in physical (because the cover is so pretty!) and audio (because the narrators are fantastic!)

Michelle Martin, Community Manager

The Literary League pick, A Season of Second Chances by Jenny Bayliss! I loved her first novel and the last few December's I've made a point of picking up holiday reads, which feels like the coziest way to end the year.

Mackenzie Leavenworth, Outreach Manager

The idea of fate constantly bringing two people into the same space has always been a favorite of mine! (Hence my annual viewing of Serendipity!) Set mostly in the timeline provided in the title of the book, I’m so excited to read Eight Perfect Hours, a charming and well-paced wintery book!

Taryn Dennie, Social Media Manager

I’ve been looking forward to Beasts of a Little Land for months now and I will be starting it as soon as it’s in my hands. The synopsis of this one reminds me a lot of Pachinko which I absolutely loved, so I have really high hopes for this.

Renee Watson, Digital Host

The Hill We Climb by Amanda Gorman is at the absolute top of my list for this month. She is such an incredible powerhouse when it comes to wielding words with great purpose.
