What We’re Reading: April 2021

Happy spring! The sun is out, the flowers are starting to bloom, and our favorite summer reading lists are just around the corner! We’re all reading such great books this month—everything from essays, rom-coms, and literary fiction. Which of these are you planning on reading?

Gabi LePage, Founder

I'll be reading The Kindred Spirits Supper Club by Amy E. Reichert. It sounds like the perfect warm-weather family drama/romance for kicking off patio season.

Lizzy Schmitter, Designer

I'll be reading The Crown of Gilded Bones by Jennifer L Armentrout, which is the third book in the From Blood and Ash series. I devoured the first two, and the second book left off with a huge, "wait, WHAT?!" moment, so I'm more than ready to get my hands on it.

Carly Radiske, Email Marketing Strategist

I'm reading The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. I got it as a gift for Christmas and my mom has been begging me to read it for YEARS since its one of her favorites. Really excited to start it!

Alexis Neuville, Editor

I was very obsessed with Beach Read by Emily Henry last year, so of course I’m going to read her sophomore novel, People We Meet on Vacation! Perfect way to kick off the warmer months.

Michelle Martin, Community Manager

I'll be reading Peaces by Helen Oyeyemi. It's her newest release and I absolutely love the dark, literary fairy tale vibe that all her stories have.

Mackenzie Leavenworth, Outreach Manager

I'm excited to read Of Women and Salt by Gabriela Garcia. It debuted at the end of March, and has been in my pre-orders since mid-2020! I still cannot shake all of the feelings I got from Infinite Country, and I've heard similar reactions to this book!

Renee Watson, Digital Host

I desperately need a laugh this month, so I am reading through Samantha Irby's hilarious and snack-size essays in wow, no thank you that say the things we are all thinking.
